First Cobia Caught in Orange Beach - Catch the Fever
There's a fishing frenzy along the Gulf Coast fueled by the news of the first Cobia caught on St. Patrick's Day in Orange Beach. The boat Killin' Time out of Zeke's Landing Marina carried the lucky anglers (not sure if they were lucky Irish anglers or not).
Captain Jeff Colley states they were fishing about 150 yards off shore just out of the Perdido Pass when they caught the 67 pound Cobia and one more smaller Cobia on spinning rods with jigs for bait.
Now's time to place that "Gone Fishing" sign on your door and head to the coast. Save 25% on a 4-night rental in a 1-,2-,3- or 4-bedroom condo or larger beach house during March and April.

Legendary Wolf Bay Lodge Reopens - Now in Orange Beach
Tragedy struck southern Alabama one early Sunday morning in December when the legendary Wolf Bay Lodge burned to the ground. The popularity of this quaint restaurant hidden away on the banks of the bay was evident by the length of the wait weekdays as well as weekends. The owners built a reputation for excellent fresh seafood served in abundance from friendly waitstaff.
So locals and tourists waited with anticipation to hear what the plans for reopening will be. Fortunately the restaurant will be rebuilt in the original location with even better water views. But that won't happen for another year - how can we wait that long?
Not to worry. The restaurant opened today at the former Zeke's Restaurant location in Orange Beach. Great news for all especially as the spring break crowds begin their treks to the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast this weekend.
