What is your favorite art medium? Watercolor, oils, glass, metal sculpture, mosaics, jewelry, clay or wood? You can see (and buy) it all this weekend at the Orange Beach Festival of Art from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10-11. One of the featured artists is Chris Hartsfield who weaves his magic with watercolor.
There will even be glass-blowing demonstrations on-site at The Hot Shop by guest glass artist Carlyn Ray from Austin, Texas. Additional demonstrations at the festival include the Tannehill Forge School showing both adults and children how to create their own metal art. Speaking of kids, they have their own special treat in the Kids' Art Alley, where they will learn to create their own artwork.
Located along the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway in Orange Beach, this weekend's festival will be a joy for the eyes and ears with live music at two stages during the event. In fact, my favorite local band, Roman Street, plays on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Other outstanding local entertainment includes Lisa Christian, Sugarcane Jane, Lisa Zanghi, Adam Holt, Brent Burns and more.
Food will be prepared by Gulf Coast restaurateurs. Admission is only $1, so grab the gang and head to this excellent event where you are sure to have a good time.
